My coaching practice combines systems thinking and mindfulness practice. One gives me the analytical clarity to understand why organizational systems misalign and where structural conditions are working against the people inside them. The other gives me the presence to work with what is actually happening in the room, between people, in real time.
That combination is what I draw on whether I am helping a leader think through a decision that doesn't have an obvious answer, or working with someone on the internal patterns that keep getting in the way of their effectiveness.
I hold a PhD in Human Science with a specialization in Systems Inquiry, a Masters in Clinical Health Education with a specialization in Counseling, and decades of practice in mindfulness and contemplative traditions.
That foundation, combined with an extensive career coaching professionals across cultures and industries, means I have seen most patterns before and know which interventions actually produce lasting change. My practice is grounded in that experience, in academic rigor, and in a commitment to honest inquiry rather than institutional compliance — which is why I have chosen not to pursue standard coaching certifications, a position I have written about publicly and stand behind.
The focus of my coaching practice is Mental Fitness and Navigating Complexity — applied to the leadership and organizational challenges that matter most: decision-making, difficult conversations, delegation, collaboration, and executive presence. Both are described in detail on the coaching page.
My global practice is defined by a direct, rigorous, compassionate, and pragmatic approach. I focus on your whole person operating within an interconnected system of relationships, roles, and organizational contexts. To achieve lasting change, we work on both your internal state and your external conditions.
I am fluent in English, Spanish, and French, and have worked with professionals across a wide range of cultures and industries. That multicultural experience informs how I think about the unspoken dynamics that shape your behavior and decision-making in ways that purely analytical approaches tend to miss.
Clients describe coaching with Alexander as practical and grounded — "a strong dose of common sense" paired with the ability to ask "the right questions at the right time." Many come during periods of professional turbulence, seeking greater clarity and confidence as leaders. What they consistently find is someone who works at the intersection of the personal and the organizational — helping them grow "as a leader and professional" while addressing "the internal patterns that keep getting in the way." One senior executive called it simply "one of the best and most influential coaching relationships I ever had."
